Position: Business Operations Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Location: Bogotá
Job summary:
The Business Operations Manager will be leading a young team of
producers, editors, writers/journalists, sales and account executives,
photographers, creative designers and business developers to transform a small
though already successful boutique media company into a key player in its niche
market in Cartagena and Bogota - with expansion into other Colombian cities and
regions. The Business Operations Manager will work closely with the finance and
administration team and its manager.
Key responsibilities: business operations with a focus on (1) leadership of the team
(strong people manager); (2) key account management; (3) commercial/sales; (4)
growing the business (entrepreneurship) and (5) quality control.
Key competencies/skills: people manager & (natural) leader, driven, hands-on,
well-organized, team player, ability to work and manage under pressure and
meet and manage deadlines, strong commercial, social and communication skills -
and ideally working & living experience abroad. The Business Operations Manager
needs to have a university degree, relevant managerial experience and an
excellent command of Spanish and English - both verbally as well as in writing. The
Business Operations Manager needs to be ambitious and interested and willing to
travel.
Preferred background: editorials, publishing houses, advertisement, PR/media and
communications agencies, marketing&sales departments/organisations, hotels,
restaurants, travel agencies/tour operators.
